LIMA -  HALF DAY CITY TOUR

A three-hour sightseeing tour offers the best of colonial and modern Lima.  Included are Lima's most imposing colonial churches and mansions such as the Government Palace, the Plaza Mayor, the City Hall and the Cathedral, including a visit to Santo Domingo convent.  The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

CITY TOUR LIMA (COLONIAL & MODERN), CASA ALIAGA HOUSE AND LUNCH


A three-hour sightseeing tour offers the best of colonial and modern Lima.  Included are Lima's most imposing colonial churches and mansions such as the Government Palace, the Plaza Mayor, the City Hall and the Cathedral, including a visit to Santo Domingo convent.

The visit includes: Casa Aliaga: Eighteen generations of the Aliaga family have resided in the same mansion ever since.  It’s been renovated continuously, but it is the oldest house in the Americas. Jerónimo's descendants currently live in a modern annex, but much of the original main house is on display.

The Aliaga House has a wide-ranging collection of Peruvian art and artifacts, including the sword Jerónimo de Aliaga used in the conquest of Peru, and reflect various eras of decor, going back centuries.

Lunch at Junius Restaurant
Explore the best of Peruvian cuisine and the atmosphere surrounding it, in an authentic and sophisticated restaurant. Wide variety of typical Peruvian food served from buffet: choice of salads, ceviches, cold and hot appetizers, soups, hot entrees and desserts.

The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

PACHACAMAC ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE WITH PASO HORSE EXHIBITION AND LUNCH: HACIENDA LOS FICUS

A 12-mile drive south of Lima, along the Pacific coast, takes you to one of Peru's most renowned ancient pilgrimage sites dating back to A.D.200.  The ruins of Pachacamac in the Lurin Valley cover 4 square miles.  The ruins consist of adobe buildings and temples and still visible are the remains of the Temple of the Sun God and remarkable irrigation works and reservoirs built by the Incas during their occupation of the area.

Hacienda Los Ficus is a delightful place full of Peruvian tradition set and the beauty of spacious gardens. You will be able to observe the horse's unique leg-action during the special show prepared for special for the group. It includes a Peruvian lunch after the exhibition.

(Pachacamac ruins are not open on Mondays).

LARCO HERRERA MUSEUM

This private museum has one of the most incredible ceramics collections to be found anywhere.  It is said to include about 55,000 pots.  Entering the first rooms is like walking into a museum store, full of thousands of ceramics grouped into categories such as animals, people and medical practices.  Further into the museum, the best pieces are displayed:  it has also mummies, a gold room, a small cactus garden, textiles made from feathers and a Paracas weaving that contains 398 threads to the linear inch - a world record.

VISIT CARAL COMPLEX

Pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and we will take a Panamerican Highway to the north of Lima. It will take us from 3-4 hours to reach the site, depending on the road conditions. You will have an excellent opportunity to observe the lush fields of onion and corn, all over Supe River Valley.

At 2,600 BC, this is the oldest centre of civilisation in the Americas. A quipu (the knot system used in Andean civilizations to record information) found on the site associates the culture with the later Incas. The city’s plan and some of its components, including pyramidal structures and residence of the elite, show clear evidence of ceremonial functions and monumental architecture, including six large pyramidal structures.
